Product Overview & Application

Overview

DRILLNOVA Weld-On Teeth are replaceable wear components for fabricated reamers and trenchless cutting tools. Multiple profiles allow cutter geometry to be matched to tool diameter, cutting direction, ground conditions and available mounting area. Correct tooth selection and qualified welding are essential for reliable service.

Multiple Cutting Profiles

DR and DT geometries provide conical, compact block and heavy wedge options for different tool layouts.

Replaceable Wear Components

Individual worn teeth can be removed and replaced without replacing the complete reamer or fabricated body.

Defined Catalogue Dimensions

Model drawings provide reference dimensions for pocket, spacing and mounting-layout review.

Flexible Tool Integration

Weld-on bodies can be positioned around approved reamer, auger or trenchless-tool designs.

Cutting Element

DR conical profiles and DT block or wedge profiles.

Weldable Body

Wear-resistant cutting insert with geometry matched to the tooth model.

Profile Selection

Steel body provides the mounting surface for qualified attachment to the host tool.

Installation

Shape and size are selected around cutting action, spacing and available mounting area.

Replacement

Weld preparation, consumables, preheat, sequence and inspection must follow the approved procedure.

Custom Review

Remove worn teeth without damaging the host body, restore the mounting area and install the confirmed replacement model.

Weld-On Teeth are not universally interchangeable. Do not select a replacement only by visual similarity. Confirm the complete model designation, catalogue dimensions, mounting orientation and host-tool drawing before installation.

Product FAQ

What are weld-on teeth used for?

They provide replaceable cutting and wear points on fabricated HDD reamers and related trenchless tools. The host-tool design determines the correct tooth type and placement.

What is the difference between DR and DT teeth?

DR models use conical or conical-wedge profiles, while DT models use compact block, curved or heavy wedge profiles. Select the family according to the required cutting action and mounting layout.

Are all weld-on teeth interchangeable?

No. Model dimensions, body shape, insert position and mounting orientation differ. Always confirm the exact designation and drawing.

How should a tooth be selected?

Provide the host-tool drawing, formation, cutting direction, tooth spacing, mounting angle, available weld area and current tooth model where applicable.

Can worn teeth be replaced in the field?

Replacement may be possible with suitable welding equipment and an approved procedure. The host body must be checked for wear or cracking before a new tooth is installed.

What should be inspected after use?

Check for insert loss, chipped cutting edges, cracked tooth bodies, failed joints, cracked welds and wear or deformation around the mounting area.

Does the tooth model determine the ground formation by itself?

No. Suitability depends on the complete tool design, tooth layout, operating parameters and ground conditions. A tooth should be reviewed as part of the full cutting system.

Can materials or insert grades be customized?

Alternative body materials, insert grades, profiles and packaging can be reviewed where order volume and application requirements support customization.

Confirm the Correct Weld-On Tooth

Share the current tooth model, host-tool drawing, formation, cutting direction, quantity and photographs of the mounting area. DRILLNOVA will review the geometry and confirm the suitable replacement configuration.
